Hidden results of abortions:
These diseases which are hard to cure do not happen by chance. Behind them, there is a ghost with a grievance who wants the person’s life in payment. So now I see a lot of little ghosts everywhere, trying to make people pay with their lives or causing them to suffer various strange diseases. These little ghosts were fetuses who were aborted before they had a chance to develop into complete human beings, so they are very ruthless. Why are they so malicious? Because you killed them first, and now they want to take revenge. Diseases caused by vengeful ghosts cannot be cured no matter what kind of doctor, Chinese or Western.

Q: Why are there poor people?
A: Poor people do not have blessings in this life because in their previous lives they did not do good deeds to earn merit and virtue, they did not sow any roots of goodness, they always tried to take advantage of others, and they fretted over their gains and losses.

One must be public-spirited and unselfish. One should not be greedy for bribes, nor should one take bribes. One must be intelligent, upright, and straightforward in serving the people.

For the world and every nation to be well off, the governments must love the people and protect the people. They must use reason to deal with problems, not forceful or oppressive measures. They must use reason to communicate with and understand one another. They should not be completely separated and unable to conform to one another.

If we want to learn to have genuine wisdom, we must first cut off desire. How do we cut off desire? By not fighting, not being greedy, not seeking, not being selfish, not pursuing personal advantage, and not lying. These six great principles are the Dharma jewels for cutting off desire and obtaining genuine wisdom.
What does upholding the precepts mean? It means not fighting, not being greedy, not seeking, not being selfish, not pursuing personal advantage, and not telling lies.

Buddhist disciples should endure starvation, endure cold, endure thirst, and endure hunger. Everything we disciples do should accord with the Buddhadharma. We should not be greedy to eat good food, wear good clothes, or live in fine places. We should not be greedy for enjoyment. Enduring suffering puts an end to suffering, but enjoying blessings uses up blessings.

In cultivation, we should apply effort naturally. We should not be greedy and ask whether there is any efficacy or whether there will be good results. We should not think about anything, but just keep applying effort and changing our faults everyday.

All afflictions are based on selfishness. That is why we have so much anger and so many troubles. What ordinary people are most attached to is the emotional love between men and women.

If you want to determine whether a person is genuine or phony, whether he is Bodhisattva or a demon, you can look for the following things: First, see whether he has any desire for sex; and second, see whether he is greedy for money.

Those who truly understand cultivation do the work right within their daily activities. Every act constitutes cultivation.

Nothing should be taken as ultimately real. As the Vajra Sutra says: “All conditioned phenomena are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows, like dew drops or flashes of lightning. One should contemplate them thus."
