this is the music I've made possible by building the instrument, a 1700s German keyboard called a clavichord, this recording is a professional artist who wishes to remain anonymous, I no longer build these instruments, but run a violin shop instead.

18 years ago I made one of the most important decisions of my life and entered a local Cambodian Buddhist Temple as a temple boy and, for only 3 weeks, an actual Therevada Buddhist monk.

Hello Lyndon...was wondering how long it takes to build a clavichord and are all parts made by you?

Took me about 6 months and all the wood parts are made by me, the metal parts are ordered(tuning pins, wire etc). Pays very poorly, and the power tool work is very dangerous, that's why I don't do it any more
